Medical gas cylinders are new gas devices which are small and portable. They are widely used in hospital, nursing homes, sanitariums for retired officers, family health, rehabilitation centers, health centers, mining equipment, high altitude operations, tourism, mountaineering and so on.
What should we pay attention to when we store medical cylinders? In patient care areas, the cylinders shall be marked if they are empty in case of confusion.
For cylinders with a gauge, the gauge shall serve as the “mark” indicating that they are full or empty. What’s more, the cylinder shall be considered empty when less than ¼ full.
The factory seal will serve as the “mark” on cylinders without gauges. If the seal is missing or broken, the cylinder is considered empty. In order to distinguish empty and full cylinders, empty cylinders shall be identified with a red tag or similar identifying material either wrapped around the neck of the cylinder or red tape on the hole or port of the storage rack where the cylinder is stored.
